"If u use Outlook Express - Watch out."

    January 1, 2006  |   By helpmepls

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 5.0

    Pros

The anti-virus software seemed to be good. It continuely scanned my computer, but didn't slow my system at all.

    Cons

BUT, once I installed it, my Outlook Express E-mail account was useless (my hotmail and yahoo accounts were fine, but OE is my primary account). It changed my e-mail settings and even when I changed them back, I still couldn't access my account.

I had to delete it off of my computer to use my e-mail again. As soon as I deleted it, my E-mail is fine.

    "One of the best"

    January 1, 2006  |   By G_Tech

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 5.0

    Pros

Of all the antiviruses I have used (including Norton, Panda, PC-cillin, F-Secure and AVG), Kaspersky impressed me the most with its superior detection rate and unique scanning engine. After your first full scan, it only scans files which have changed or have been added subsequently, hence cutting down scan time. Updates are automatic and unobstrusive.

    Cons

The first scan takes very long, but I guess it is just being thorough.

"THE BEST, MOST SOPHISTICATED PROGRAM OUT"

    December 27, 2005  |   By toxictrader

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 5.0

    Pros

I spent one month with seven virus programs, know and downloading spyware. they all missed. and i had trouble with internet connections, i have a T1, Sygate is the absolute worst. Kasp. caught trojans, spyware, etc in the realtime scanner, not later. during my first run it caught all my viruses plus more..this was Beta six. I highly recommend them, they dont play the HYPE, they program and fight the fire.

    Cons

none so far. i have not tried the firewall. sygate's the best and easiest.

"For $80: JUVENILE, SMART-ALEC SURPRISE AWAITS YOU"

    December 25, 2005  |   By flagday1960

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 5.0

    Pros

I DON'T KNOW, AS I REFUSE NOW TO USE THIS CUSTOMER-CONTEMPTUOUS PRODUCT. SEE "CONS". I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM KASPERSKY AS LONG AS I LIVE.

    Cons

Ha-ha. Real funny. Ya' got me. I had a heart attack. These lowlifes think that what will endear you to their product is a nasty practical joke. Ever see the web joke that says, "Look at this photo & see if you can guess what's wrong". Well, nothing's wrong, but as you stare closely, suddenly, an alien face appears, & a loud shriek, "AH-H-H-H!!" comes out of your speakeRs, giving you a coronary. Funny. Hilarious. So, the smart-alec, juvenile little jerks at Kaspersky thinks this is so funny, that after you drop $80, the first time a threat is detected, a max-volume screaming demon suddenly appears, frightening the living u-know-what out of you. Funny. It's late, the house is quiet, and out of your speakers comes, "WA-A-A-A-A-A-A-AH!!!". IDIOTIC. JUVENILE. CUSTOMER-CONTEMPTUOUS. I'm currently disputing the charge with VISA to get a refund. What dirtbag losers, I opine. I will never buy another product from Kaspersky.

    "Notebook companion! Powerful anti-virus application!"

    December 9, 2005  |   By PCCW

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 5.0

    Pros

I have been using a notebook with a 2G Intel CPU and 768 MB RAM (Compaq Presario 1500) for 3 years. This notebook has a slight heart problem so I have to fan it(the CPU area)outside to keep it running properly all day long, otherwise when it goes too hot, it will shut itself down and restart! I tried Norton in the past but whenever I ran it, it made my computer restart - I think Norton is just too heavy for a notebook , and some say that Norton does not do much in its job. The first time I tried Kaspersky and let it scan my C drive and 5 other external harddisks,it took about an hour to finish, and it found one Trojan horse and removed it for me. From time to time, Kaspersky will remind me to scan all the disks just in case, for I did not schedule it to scan. I switch it on whenever I am online and it works great to protect my notebook.

    Cons

I found that it does slow down the IE's surfing a little bit (Avant runs faster, though) when you switch Kaspersky on while you are online. But this slight slowness is acceptable, at least to me.

One thing though, if you use a notebook like me with 768 MB RAM, when you are not online, quit Kaspersky when you need to open other big applications to do other jobs, such as using a TV app to record a TV program, otherwise you might run out of RAM and the computer might restart itself. Do not use Kaspersky with many applications open - applications like Random House dictionary is okay, you can have several on while Kaspersky is in use.

"The Best, Norton, Mcaffee, AVG, do not compare."

    November 23, 2005  |   By internetzed

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 5.0

    Pros

The very Best, I have Used Kaspersky for the last year and it has been trouble free for me on every computer i have installed it on. The People that say do not buy it, honestly dont know what they are talking about, If you have had another antivirus installed on your system ,,i.e. Norton or mcaffee, you must COMPLEATLY REMOVE them. before using kaspersky. i have installed from a reformat everytime i have installed , and there have been no problems at all. this is on a number of system ranging from just 128 megs of ram all the way up to 3 gigs of ram. and honestly, if you want the best, like i do , then i understand that it comes with a sacrifice, although i have not had any issuse's with speed or stability. the issuse's with speed and stability come more into play when your dealing with a compromised (corrupt) version of windows. if you want to have a Very good handle on security, then the best way is to start from a reformat and run.. amoung kaspersky i also use Zone Alarm Pro, and For anti spyware i run CounterSpy and Ewido... there are no compatabilty problems at all , Running on XP PROFESSIONAL. Updates configurable up to every hour. For those of you that want to rate it bad TRY IT from a fresh format and you will see ,,its not the program thats bad , 99% of the time its the ignorant user.

    Cons

    There are none.....
